as much or as little as you need, which is as close to "freedom" as
you can get with a job especially one like this that pays well and offers good incentives. You can literally go to your job in your pajamas, I have

Bachelor's was NOT in teaching (Human Development and Family Studies) NOR was I
a professional teacher (I've volunteered as a tutor in my kids classes at

qualified me in their eyes!). I am in my 2nd contract with them. If you have

I LOVE felt.....fitting for Valentine's Day. For this banner I bought several different colors of felt. I took a marker and drew hearts on the fabric all different sizes but similar. I then doubled the fabric over (so I could cut two hearts at once)and cut them out by hand. After I had them cut I took them to my sewing machine. Placing one heart after another, I sewed down the middle. Creating a long line of hearts. Enjoy!</div>

Valentines day is approaching. One quick decoration is my Holiday Kisses cup.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
Grab a white bowl, cup, jar or mug. You can get one like this at Ikea. Use a silhouette machine or some other vinyl cutting machine and cut out your words in red (or pink). I like red because I can use this for Christmas!</div>

Fill with the candy of your choice. Maybe chocolate kisses??</div>

VIPKID!<br />
<br />
You teach English online to students in China. You do need to have some schooling but a teaching degree is not required. It took me about two weeks to interview and train and I was off and teaching. It took me a couple of weeks to get a full week of students scheduled. Let me know if you need any more advice or tips with you interview or when you start teaching!! <a href="https://t.vipkid.com.cn/?refereeId=2723483" target="_blank">VIPKID</a> <br />
<br />
I have been working with them for over two months. If you don't mind some early mornings, which works great for me, you should look into it! You can also work Weekends (morning and evenings).<br />

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Kids are already in school. I remember as a child summers going so fast, it hasn't changed as an adult. I love that they are in school, but I miss them.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
For Backpacks this year we went to <a href="http://www.downeasthome.com/" target="_blank">DownEastHome</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
They have these great canvas backpacks and lunch boxes that are seconds only because a company has made a mistake on monogramming. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
EASY FIX:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I took some scrap fabric and used my <a href="http://www.silhouetteamerica.com/" target="_blank">silhouette</a> machine to cut out my kids names and initials. You have to buy the fabric blade for this, but I love to use fabric so it was a no brainer when I bought it. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<ol>
<li><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Iron on interfacing.</div>
</li>
<li><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Cut out pattern with machine.</div>
</li>
<li><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Iron on fabric </div>
</li>
<li><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I hand stitched it to give a little extra strength.</div>
</li>
<li><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
You're done!</div>
</li>
</ol>

<strong>Instructions for chalk board paint</strong>:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
1/2 cup acrylic paint (any color)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
1 tablespoon un-sanded grout</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I mixed them together with disposable plastic cup and spoon. I used a sponge brush to paint with. Easy clean up. The paint can dry quickly. I doubled the batch and painted this piece front and back with two coats and still had some left over for my daughter to paint a smaller board.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
While the paint dried I used my <a href="http://www.silhouetteamerica.com/" target="_blank">Silhouette machine</a> to cut out the white vinyl for the lettering. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
After the paint was dry, I placed my vinyl on the painted surface. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Next take a piece of chalk and rub it all around the painted surface and rub off the excess chalk with a paper towel. Done!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This was so much fun and really took less time then I expected!</div>

Wow...it has been awhile since I last posted. Vacation, sickness and just summer fun has slowed down my posting. </div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have a fun new project that I recently finished. I bought this old rocking chair at a yard sale for $15.00. What a deal. It did need some work and now it is all done! Material and padding cost a total of $ 25.00. So grand total for the new chair (to me) $40.00.</div>
<br />

For the finish material I folded the ends under to have a cleaner look. Same steps as the batting. Start on one side in the middle and then move to the right and left stapling. Then go to the opposite side. I also had to cut off excess fabric along the corners. It also helps to have an extra pair of hands. My husband would pull taut and I would staple has he held. </div>

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I needed some noise makers for my kids favorite song. This was the perfect solution because they make noise but it is oh so quiet!</div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The washi tape didn't go around as easily as the electrical tape. Next time I might try to find some white electrical tape and just use that instead. I had all of these things at home so I don't know what it would cost? My husband might not be so happy with me that I use the electrical tape :)</div>

I need something to cover a blank wall. I need to make it inexpensive and quick.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
What to do??</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I built this canvas about 10 years ago. I was bored with what I had painted on it back then. So I spray painted over it with gray spray paint. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Found some old material that I had tied into a long strand.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Wrapped it around the canvas in no particular order and started to spray paint. I used turquoise (official name: Island paradise) spray paint. For some reason I have recently really loved this color. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I sprayed turning the canvas after each coat, so I could get each side. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And the finished piece of art! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaLN74dK2vFiCIvqpSC1AkVCRZZhm6ZucGvt_Fs2WCK9drl5G-d9lpyLjXwwvsJB6n5jysm1VCepwFl__kIsWzehY0l-QUC7j7jE7wTjl2O7rtqzPMTEXenosC3aCM8ZJscus3OntHk5Q/s1600/IMG_20130528_183119.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaLN74dK2vFiCIvqpSC1AkVCRZZhm6ZucGvt_Fs2WCK9drl5G-d9lpyLjXwwvsJB6n5jysm1VCepwFl__kIsWzehY0l-QUC7j7jE7wTjl2O7rtqzPMTEXenosC3aCM8ZJscus3OntHk5Q/s320/IMG_20130528_183119.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Now my wall is not so open and blank. The thing I love most it didn't cost me a cent. I already had all the supplies. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Even if I had to buy the supplies, the spray paint would have been $6, canvas $10 (or less with coupons) and material or tape maybe $2. A project less then $20 if you have to buy everything. </div>

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I'm not one to take things off the street during neighborhood clean up week, but I made and exception just this once. Honestly, I was running to the grocery store after all the kids were in bed. It was raining but almost cold enough to snow. I saw this lovely side table on the side of the road and on my way back from the store, after contemplating should I take it or not, I told myself if it was still there I would pull over and get it. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Well, it was still there! So in the dark of the night and the freezing rain I get out and put it in my car. Now my trunk was full of groceries and it barley fit into the back seat of our little sedan. I was just about to leave it behind because it was that difficult to squeeze in. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And several months later as it sat in my garage I finally got the energy to start on this project. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Of course I started this project and thought, "oh pictures". So the top of this table looked normal other then some black like stains you see on the drawer. I also had to use some wood glue and nails to help repair the drawer. When I got it home the drawer wouldn't open at all.</div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I was about to hand sand it when luckily my father-in-law came over to help with our basement and said he had an electric sander. That made my day! It took all of maybe 15 minutes to sand the top and get all the varnish off. </div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I didn't worry about the base and legs because I am going to do a little sanding on them and then prime and paint those. Stay tuned to see the color. (should I go white or some fun color?)</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
After I sanded, I cleaned the top and put one coat of dark walnut stain on. Sorry for the poor picture. I was outside and the shade of our trees ruined the picture. </div>

I taught my sons art class this year. It is called the Great Artist Program. We had some great works of art to draw. It was a lot of fun to see how talented and creative these little kids are. Even my son who doesn't really like arts and crafts!</div>

I created a little carry case for all the kids to take home their year worth of drawings. I wanted the parents to have an idea of what the kids had done so I glued on the list. It looked kind of boring at this point. </div>

<span style="color: #660000; font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I have suddenly fallen in love with food coloring pens. </span></div>

<span style="color: #660000; font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: large;"> The "ink" is food coloring so it is edible. I used these pens at my daughters Baking Party (post soon to come) & </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #660000; font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: large;">they were a hit. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #660000; font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: large;"></span> </div>

I had some crackers and ahhhh the pens. It wasn't a long activity but the kids loved it and then they got a snack!</span></div>

I made these clothing items several years ago and posted them on a personal blog. I was interested to see if any of you would like a tutorial on them. Leave a comment and let me know if your interested. <br />

I made these pants with cheap fabric because I didn't want to waste the good fabric on a pattern I was making and not so sure how it would turn out. <br />

I found this darling fabric on sale and decided to make some clothes for my daughter. I had to create a couple of the patterns. I still need to do some tweaking...but overall they turned out okay. I am excited for her to wear them! <span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Are you ready for some picnics?? Do you have the perfect blanket? If not try this....</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Have you ever had piles of old Levi's that have holes or stains? Well, here is the solution. Cut them up into any size you desire. If you cut them into a large square or rectangle the less sewing you will have to do. I know sometime with kid pants small shapes are all you're going to get. Either way the end result is wonderful for a picnic blanket. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Sew all the pieces together just like a normal quilt. Row by row and then sew all the rows together. You can make it as big or as small as you like. This one is on the smaller side. I don't have a step by step tutorial because I got this quilt as a gift. I made one prior to this blog and it is packed up (while we remodel our basement). The one I made could fit on a queen size bed. I love how big it is. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkWzQHPI6KlOTrm3gHqWe_0e2Ab2gWePwhGPciLGwDzQr6ybTnyvj93Svh9VYUPompkAH_9RHzmGoFc3dSAoxMRoLIiJuaQB6l_kGq0RBzgiFcxMYRerSmOmyK3smNIRpdFNrojdgPQhY/s1600/042713131537.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkWzQHPI6KlOTrm3gHqWe_0e2Ab2gWePwhGPciLGwDzQr6ybTnyvj93Svh9VYUPompkAH_9RHzmGoFc3dSAoxMRoLIiJuaQB6l_kGq0RBzgiFcxMYRerSmOmyK3smNIRpdFNrojdgPQhY/s320/042713131537.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Once you sew all the pieces together you could be finished or add some felt to the back and quilt it.</span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDqq8XoPDHgq_gpjxX5zz98hU-IXSozMoKwuz-FcraXmi4fQ7NBwlwsItSInPdiuyKxpC8OV4IU9MyEZWh6Mpgku-wUBBLRxuN-x49pkNKgFNMtjhJ557_s2LNDFI4yWBANDR7oB_nMpY/s1600/042713131621.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDqq8XoPDHgq_gpjxX5zz98hU-IXSozMoKwuz-FcraXmi4fQ7NBwlwsItSInPdiuyKxpC8OV4IU9MyEZWh6Mpgku-wUBBLRxuN-x49pkNKgFNMtjhJ557_s2LNDFI4yWBANDR7oB_nMpY/s320/042713131621.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The reason I love this quilt...well, you know when you go to sit for a picnic and the grass just isn't quite dry. With other blankets, it will start to get wet and then you and the kids start to get wet. The thickness of the material solves the problem. I have never gotten wet while sitting on this blanket. I love it!!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">Happy Picnicking!!!!</span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"></span></div>

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It has been an interesting week so far. Our computer and camera both died on us!! So sad and not so good for a blogger. How do I take pictures and create post?? Well my cell phone is my current camera and I have great parents who let me borrow their lap top. Sorry for the lack of post this week. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Now for the post...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I bought some washi tape several months ago from Pick Your Plum. I didn't know what I would use it for. There are some great ideas out there, but I was waiting to figure out what I wanted to do. The opportunity came. It was my week to teach our co-op preschool. We made these books for the kids.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I wanted to make them a little more fancy. Not just construction paper. And then it came to me to use the washi tape. It was so easy to use and added just a little fun to each book. It also helped on the back where the pins holding the book together were moving all around. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I think I put off upgrading my kitchen because I only had about a $300 budget.
How can you make a 35 year old kitchen look decent with that little of
money? Well I took the plunge and decided that it was going to have to
work. And....I love the way it turned out. I still need to upgrade
my faucet, which will be coming in the next couple of weeks. </div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">AHHHH.. Delicious Chocolate Chip Cookies. This is my favorite recipe! It's even healthy (well at least I think it is). Now you have no excuse to make them. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><b>The Cookie</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">1 cup butter and 1 cup coconut oil (or just use all cocon</span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">u</span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">t oil)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">2 cups sugar</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">2 cups brown sugar</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">4 eggs</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">2 teaspoons vanilla</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">4 cups whole wheat flour</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">1 tsp. salt</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">2 tsp. baking soda</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">2 tsp. baking powder</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">5 cups old-fashioned oats, ground to flour in a food processor or blender</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">1 package white chocolate chips</span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">1 package milk chocolate chips</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Cream butter/coconut oil and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla and mix. Then add flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda and then the ground oats. Last and most important in my book, the chocolate chips!!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I use a cookie scoop and place them on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes at 375 degrees.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>

<span style="color: #0b5394;">Want a little splash of color for a party or get together. Well I have the perfect simple solution. PAPER GARLAND. It takes minutes (really) to make. I made this with extra scrap paper that had patterns on it. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #0b5394;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #0b5394;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><span style="color: #0b5394;">Materials:</span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #0b5394;">Paper</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #0b5394;">Paper Cutter</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #0b5394;">Sewing machine</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #0b5394;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><span style="color: #0b5394;">How to Make:</span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #0b5394;">Take your paper cut it into 7 inch long strips and 1 inch wide. Bend in the middle and put them in any pattern or no pattern at all! </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9LKnmQ0gDz6K24TgSWtco0sAwy7JTq1x6I2yRxcpLhHdtF85OgXrK1ThW6ul572l_UFfc7RRD47iNdxype8ZTCEfSAn8ZX3TYhxn6Wk22RxEecTdgg7hCP7ZbOp6-Q5FnTyifsGmRgbE/s1600/paper+garland.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9LKnmQ0gDz6K24TgSWtco0sAwy7JTq1x6I2yRxcpLhHdtF85OgXrK1ThW6ul572l_UFfc7RRD47iNdxype8ZTCEfSAn8ZX3TYhxn6Wk22RxEecTdgg7hCP7ZbOp6-Q5FnTyifsGmRgbE/s1600/paper+garland.jpg" height="288" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="color: #073763;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #0b5394;">Next Sew. Just a reminder that this will dull your sewing needle so you may want to have a needle put aside for paper sewing. Start with your first paper and then as you get done slowly add the next paper to add a little space in between them. </span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: x-large;">My New Spring Wreath!</span></h4>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Material you need:</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">1. Styrofoam wreath</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"> 2. Scrap material to wrap wreath (optional)</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">3. Old magazine (I used 3-4 small Magazines)</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">4. Sizzors</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">5. Glue gun or Craft Glue</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">6. Spray paint</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">7. Ribbon of some sort to hang with</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj35x3jbx0TdhneSzrBUXNZeTqV8So-fWbPUoyprZzm6bxg1vqmQKAiu6SL65raTFdltvG9fSsVosUHGgYjrB7DDtBUZc6w7TSv6sJu5etCa6ieoMAF_AXkJD3OuUCzdTF7Gw4fxijIf4o/s1600/DSC03979.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj35x3jbx0TdhneSzrBUXNZeTqV8So-fWbPUoyprZzm6bxg1vqmQKAiu6SL65raTFdltvG9fSsVosUHGgYjrB7DDtBUZc6w7TSv6sJu5etCa6ieoMAF_AXkJD3OuUCzdTF7Gw4fxijIf4o/s1600/DSC03979.JPG" height="640" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">I wanted a new spring wreath. What I thought would take an hour surprised me to take several more. But I REALLY like the result. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2hMd0_VVeVt1AlwZsjr4TGgJfAHeRYsjeHnsODiy7jEuuv0Kp_01JPpdy8UgG3qzzf4gtBoYZKnrjArUcsvmqUlf4UBmkRhPgjo-6Noxvf_Z_fyF1IUoGCV89JQEFCaEx-GRtqtOHEmI/s1600/DSC03932.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2hMd0_VVeVt1AlwZsjr4TGgJfAHeRYsjeHnsODiy7jEuuv0Kp_01JPpdy8UgG3qzzf4gtBoYZKnrjArUcsvmqUlf4UBmkRhPgjo-6Noxvf_Z_fyF1IUoGCV89JQEFCaEx-GRtqtOHEmI/s1600/DSC03932.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I wrapped the wreath with scrap material. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I like gluing onto the material rather then straight onto the styrofoam.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDUFF_aus7R3aBrRP29etpeSZ1WHXSby056LY2Tdt8MOpNHGyjdGpeCdF6eUoaKzlRTZ2v_693MySaOrgPnW8GV3sVpcb2pLfghg-QD-Sv_eay08skPFF8B1fPlZtwIp5s_QlliI_r_6w/s1600/DSC03933.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDUFF_aus7R3aBrRP29etpeSZ1WHXSby056LY2Tdt8MOpNHGyjdGpeCdF6eUoaKzlRTZ2v_693MySaOrgPnW8GV3sVpcb2pLfghg-QD-Sv_eay08skPFF8B1fPlZtwIp5s_QlliI_r_6w/s1600/DSC03933.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I then ripped out the pages of the magazine and cut them in half and then in half again. My magazine was a small one. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5M0JyHQwUQh-KbT8LwJHBWJZRCQEMUv0_eDdKMelOdTBn9En8zFN2_MFoEE1YbQJ_MMROaV2Zf8t9JVnUjsM4Y6Co-zvZR2AGPDCqUVaVXF_53tMbmR3WqKu3EuHvQNkO_tLjfnel-Z8/s1600/DSC03934.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5M0JyHQwUQh-KbT8LwJHBWJZRCQEMUv0_eDdKMelOdTBn9En8zFN2_MFoEE1YbQJ_MMROaV2Zf8t9JVnUjsM4Y6Co-zvZR2AGPDCqUVaVXF_53tMbmR3WqKu3EuHvQNkO_tLjfnel-Z8/s1600/DSC03934.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I bunched them in sets if 2, 3,4, etc. I didn't count I just grouped them and cut. The more pages together, the larger your flower can become. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I cut them into oval/circle shapes. For better pictures I drew the circle on the papers. I didn't do this on all of my circles. Then the cutting began again. This process happened several times, as I realized I would need more magazines to complete my wreath. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEmMESVLl0monPCRdAAS-CDKgajzL81HDI8kkOgz-N07EaAYCX1rAUCxQVJLSn7T-_1ZXemF1d2fUnLQJqjAdC-lIrb3QcS5SoQh2UbY1839lB2kFlw-W4DCXxlLO_5EbQAm_B0kM7vAM/s1600/DSC03944.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEmMESVLl0monPCRdAAS-CDKgajzL81HDI8kkOgz-N07EaAYCX1rAUCxQVJLSn7T-_1ZXemF1d2fUnLQJqjAdC-lIrb3QcS5SoQh2UbY1839lB2kFlw-W4DCXxlLO_5EbQAm_B0kM7vAM/s1600/DSC03944.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My circles were not cut perfectly, they had jagged edges and were not all that pretty, but I like the way it turned out. Some flowers were larger then others and all were different. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9_xCT-RHs5stRmn3Gm21SmuS9447gz6V3NTgTq0yUxt490uaAIMRp3RKuEUTAQ1DzMg6AAKbxUwTqrdBQa3MZX57oqkyr-h1UC_pPbMjFqpLTNtjfPBEO65v0xVqxuvFYJeuHGLOhHIU/s1600/DSC03943.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9_xCT-RHs5stRmn3Gm21SmuS9447gz6V3NTgTq0yUxt490uaAIMRp3RKuEUTAQ1DzMg6AAKbxUwTqrdBQa3MZX57oqkyr-h1UC_pPbMjFqpLTNtjfPBEO65v0xVqxuvFYJeuHGLOhHIU/s1600/DSC03943.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I started wrapping with the outer edge. I tried it both ways and I preferred working from the outside in. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj937MaM1_dsdsdcFb_ffqjvN5pq9B65a3hMhNnhW_Uz3OsrobACRW6zHpA67aZP63pw9em-Hp7sw2X_Tb_vZnoxVKbnHRz2JXZt3VLAk6wENLxJIHsSs1v5HKpXOjJu9DJQCiEZM-1T54/s1600/DSC03954.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj937MaM1_dsdsdcFb_ffqjvN5pq9B65a3hMhNnhW_Uz3OsrobACRW6zHpA67aZP63pw9em-Hp7sw2X_Tb_vZnoxVKbnHRz2JXZt3VLAk6wENLxJIHsSs1v5HKpXOjJu9DJQCiEZM-1T54/s1600/DSC03954.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Start wrapping tightly. When I got near the end I would rip off the last little bit if it didn't fit well. </div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvOnbu0iGgpN2RNRfovHIDnP0gqTcvDIJrlgVMlfqoDLCDmkK9Qk684wOoJKg6H7gV9ggq0t0V9eLrR5YfQ5nmLXoUgkfcfzklt-oi5g6aeiGJ8MojaBaabp9_SrDUmJVf4R0QAaqcGc8/s1600/DSC03935.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvOnbu0iGgpN2RNRfovHIDnP0gqTcvDIJrlgVMlfqoDLCDmkK9Qk684wOoJKg6H7gV9ggq0t0V9eLrR5YfQ5nmLXoUgkfcfzklt-oi5g6aeiGJ8MojaBaabp9_SrDUmJVf4R0QAaqcGc8/s1600/DSC03935.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You can glue them on the wreath or get a little pile and then glue. When you let go they will not be as tight. I did both. Glue the tight ones right on and put them down and let them grow a bit. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgms50-YGsebJWcsDL8IaBT9jwCmH-_VjTN55B0n-ffLja0Y4h3ngxrpPKOjps9nLMZugEp_fQCHhodXqYPUktU6z1_SnLhgSU8NSqiOCIz-v9-Tj6p0yXHXiYW3u0poIOk6DW8mWuS9z4/s1600/DSC03936.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgms50-YGsebJWcsDL8IaBT9jwCmH-_VjTN55B0n-ffLja0Y4h3ngxrpPKOjps9nLMZugEp_fQCHhodXqYPUktU6z1_SnLhgSU8NSqiOCIz-v9-Tj6p0yXHXiYW3u0poIOk6DW8mWuS9z4/s1600/DSC03936.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Once your flowers are all glued, you can spray paint it. I took my wreath outside and spray painted it several times, giving it time in between to dry. I bought my spray paint at Walmart the cheap stuff for $1. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Now if you have a door that faces East and it gets REALLY hot between the screen and door, don't use a glue gun. The heat will melt the glue!!! Trust me not fun to see parts of your wreath on the ground and glue that melted and then hardened dripped all over your door! This might become a Christmas wreath!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Have fun and Enjoy!</div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">My Kids LOVE their Hoodie Towels!!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">They got theirs as baby shower gifts and have used them for years. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">My niece is having a girl and I thought I would make her baby one.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
What you need: </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
1 regular towel</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
1 hand towel</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Material for ruffle edge (My kids have ribbon sewn 1/4 of they way up on the hand towel) . I decided I wanted a ruffle edge. I bought my towels at Target and had the purple material on hand. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicr2T_gBsuwN-AF7fRSRFtYSV8bAT_sLEvvhduFLehN3zC19f_yOYJmzej9YAxN7AGfG5jnQCFJX7QJolG5shnGnR_dPsbWhEEETA8LWYCZF4NZoJPlw3jSaVz5AX4uY0LfSfSjyFRL5w/s1600/DSC03962.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicr2T_gBsuwN-AF7fRSRFtYSV8bAT_sLEvvhduFLehN3zC19f_yOYJmzej9YAxN7AGfG5jnQCFJX7QJolG5shnGnR_dPsbWhEEETA8LWYCZF4NZoJPlw3jSaVz5AX4uY0LfSfSjyFRL5w/s1600/DSC03962.JPG" height="320" width="255" /></a></div>
<br />
I actually had it all sewn before I figured out that I needed to cut the hand towel down. Oops. I should have taken pictures, but I was a bit frustrated and the baby shower was in 1 hour. To say the least I was in a bit of a hurry.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Cut the hand towel to equal 12 inches on one side and 8 on the other. I then zig zaged the edge or you could serge it. If you want to hem maybe leave a little more material. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I took my purple material. I made it about 1 1/2 inch wide . It was about 16 inches long. If you don't want it very ruffly then shorten your length. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I don't have pictures of this but take 3 inch wide material. Fold it over to make 1 1/2 inch wide material and sew the open side shut. Turn it inside out and iron. I sewed each edge again to get a finished looking piece of material. Turn both ends in and sew those closed. Set your sewing machine to lesson the tension. On my machine it is 6+ my machine is old so I am not sure what other machines settings are. Sew a straight stitch down the middle and your machine will automatically gather and ruffle the material. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Attach ruffle to the front of your hand towel (hoodie) and sew the two pieces together. I placed the ruffle at the edge of the towel and sewed along the middle of the purple ruffle. I wanted to make it look like one sewing line. </div>

Attach hoodie (hand towel) to towel. I found the middle of the towel and the middle of the hand towel and pinned them together. Then I continued pinning along the right and left until the hand towel ran out. </div>
